Athena Tergis "A letter home"

The much anticipated first solo album from Athena is now available!. Produced by the legendary John Doyle, the album includes many guest musicians that have encouraged and inspired Athena over the years. The recording process began in May 2006 in the peaceful Killeeneen Studios in Co. Galway, Ireland. Beautifully restored by renowned box accordion player Sharon Shannon, the stone cottage is set in the Galway countryside, the perfect setting to kick off the recording process. Liz Carroll flew in to Ireland a day early to put down fiddle on a couple tracks and John Doyle contributed his usual magic on bouzouki and guitar. Sharon Shannon is also featured on a track. The recording process continued two weeks later at Athena’s studio in Tuscany, Terra Linda Studios. John Doyle flew over for the week, along with Engineer Ivan O’Shea.

A Letter Home is Athena’s solo debut and features musical contributions from Liz Carroll, John Doyle, Natalie Haas, Chico Huff, Billy McComiskey, Sharon Shannon and Ben Wittman.
